The Australian raid on the famous Royal Ascot carnival begins this Tuesday in the King’s Stand Stakes. Sprint Queen, Miss Andretti heads the betting from Takeover Target, Bentley Biscuit and Magnus. Clarry Conners and Darren Beadman took the Group One T.J. Smith Plate with Apercu, narrowly holding off Tripitz in a dramatic day of racing at Eagle Farm on Monday.

Beadman had Apercu (a $7 chance) in fourth place once they settled and grabbed the lead from the well-tried Masked Assassin (a $6 chance) in the 100m but had to withstand a late charge on the inside by Tripitz (a $26 chance), ridden by Brad Stewart, to win by a half neck.
