It’s hard to fault the progress of Auckland Cup winner Zavite to take the Sydney Cup.
Zavite is a proven two-miler in Zavite and has won twice at 3200m, in last year’s Adelaide Cup and the Auckland Cup just recently. Others on form to consider include No Wine No Song and perhaps even Jessicabeel. No Wine No Song has had just six starts since his 2008 Sydney Cup triumph with his running career derailed by two tendon injuries to different legs. Despite the setbacks he has been racing and finishing fifth in the Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and third in The BMW (2400m).
