Webber on pole position in Spain

Mark Webber took P1 in Spanish qualifying!

This is Mark’s first pole position in 2011 beating teammate Sebastian Vettel by a mere 0.2 seconds. Vettel wasn’t too phased that Mark stopped his season long pole position run. Being on the front row was good enough for him as his KERS system broke during qualifying. However it’s very difficult to overtake in Barcelona and this is why I believe Mark has an excellent chance to bag this one.

Third spot man Lewis Hamilton was a second off Webber and Fernando Alonso was fourth 1.3 seconds off. Jenson Button was fifth, Vitaly Petrov sixth, and thereafter came Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa, Pastor Maldonado and Michael Schumacher.

A great result from Pastor Maldonado in the Williams. Teammate Rubens Barrchello was a distant 19th.

Note that neither Ferrari nor Mercedes have ‘new’ soft tyres available for the race. This means that they won’t be a threat for the podium as these are reserved for Red Bull and McLaren, both which have a fresh set of softies.

However betting on the Top 10 provides a great chance for teams like Sauber overtake Schumacher (Mercedes) and Massa (Ferrari) and to get some points. Hence a bet on either Sauber driver to make it Top 10 is worth it!

Tips:
Mark Webber to win – $1.85.
Sergio Perez to finish top 10 – $2.
