Is this an Aussie week at The Greenbrier Classic?...

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 posted by Dorian

28-year-old Australian Aron Price looks quite inconsistent lately, in the last eight PGA Tour events he hasn’t managed to make the cut twice in a row. Last week in Toronto he didn’t survive the halfway cut, shooting a 71 in each of first two rounds. Aron, 1st ranked in Approaches from 225-250 yards, is a $201 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

Aaron Baddeley, raised in Australia from the age of two, hasn’t really had solid results this year making the cut in four tournaments our of 17 played. However last month he survived the halfway cut four times in a row. Aaron looks strong at the moment, being fourth in a Bounce Back and in Driving Pct. 300-320 (All Drives), fifth in 3-Putt Avoidance. He is a $67 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

Matt Jones’ best finish on the PGA Tour this year is 5th at the John Deere Classic just three weeks ago. Matt played third or fourth rounds only once in the last six events and twice in the last 11 events. He finished five times in top 10 and eight times in top 25. Matt, who has won already more than $1 million in 2010, is a $51 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

John Senden plays good golf consistently and finished T12 at the John Deere Classic, which was one of his two best finishes on the PGA Tour in 2010. He also finished T48 at the British Open Championship. John is 15th in Ball Striking and one of the best rated Aussies by bookies to win here. He is a $67 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

James Nitties has two professional wins so far, last one from two years ago. After a very poor start to this year, James has come back to a decent form and finished in top 50 in the last three events he has played. James is a $126 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

Jarrod Lyle is a 28-year-old golfer far from being in shape. He started 2010 very well making the cut in the first six events in a row but lately Lyle has survived the halfway cut only once in July out of four tournaments played on the PGA Tour. Jarrod is a $201 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

Cameron Percy is other Aussie who has not survived the halfway cut recently. Cameron’s game has looked awful and he should change something as soon as possible. For now, he is a $251 chance to win the Greenbrier Classic.

Verdict: Stuart Appleby to finish as the best placed Aussie at $7.
