Melbourne will be desperate to notch their maiden A-League win this Saturday evening against the Fury in front of their home fans, after having victory snatched from their grasp in the 93rd minute against Perth last weekend, courtesy of a controversial penalty decision. That decision prompted an angry reaction from Heart skipper Simon Colosimo, who accused Glory striker Michael Baird of “blatant simulation” in an interview after the match.
A fired-up Colosimo is a plus for Melbourne going into the clash with North Queensland, who are three points clear of the Heart on the A-League ladder. However, they are still without the likes of Michael Beauchamp, Jossip Skoko and John Aloisi due to injury.
North Queensland have had no trouble scoring goals this year, netting nine times in four games. But conversely they have also let nine goals in. Coach Franz Straka will need to find a way to tighten up his side’s defence against an improving Melbourne outfit.
Melbourne have been inching closer to their first win and should do enough to get it against the Fury on Saturday. Heart are paying 2.00 to take all three competition points.
