Overton has scored better than Boo Weekley in both rounds so far, managing a 64 in the first round when his rival shot a 67, while in the second round he improved with a career-low 8-under 62 and Boo matched his lowest round of the year, posting a 7-under 63. Jeff, the hottest golfer on Tour has 15 birdies so far, finished inside the top 12 in six of his last nine starts and is in the top 20 in the field in driving distance, driving accuracy, total putts and greens in regulation.
Boo Weekley, the crowd favorite, is making his 20th start of the season and his best result being a ninth-place finish at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. He enjoys playing in the West Virginia Area, recording some good results a few years ago at the Pete Dye Classic. Coming back after a serious shoulder injury it will be almost impossible for him overcome Jeff.
Immensely talented, Jeff Overton must control his emotions as he looks for his first Tour title and would be important to consolidate his lead in front of Boo Weekley in the third round.
Verdict: Jeff Overton to win at $1.75.
