Former Virginia Tech Hokie Zimbabwe native Brendon de Jonge managed a 65 in the first round and is looking forward to a win, after four top 15 finishes in his last PGA Tour events he has played. Riding a streak of 10 straight rounds in the sixties, Brendon has won already more than $1,300,000 this season and ranks T22nd in Scoring Average on the PGA Tour.
American Brandt Snedeker ranks 18 places behind in Scoring Average and scored only a 68 in the first round on Thursday. Brandt didn’t survive the half way cut twice in the last three PGA Tour events he has played in the last four weeks and will be in danger not to survive it once again on Friday.
His fellow countryman Chris Stroud shot even a worse result with 69 strokes and he is ranked only 134th in Scoring Average. Before cut his Scoring Average is not better at all, being ranked 146th and Stroud should be satisfied if will make the cut. The American has earned less than half of money his two opponents earned in 2010.
Verdict: Brendon De Jonge to win at $2.35 and to continue his good run.
