Before the international break, we saw the two sides of Tottenham that means predicting their matches this season could be trickier then first thought.
Just days after securing Champions League football for the very first time, Spurs somehow succumb to a 1-0 home defeat to a Wigan side they demolished 9-1 in the corresponding fixture last season. What Harry Redknapp will want to make sure his side don’t continue with this early season inconsistency but hasn’t been helped by the international week where he saw both Michael Dawson and Jermain Defoe carried off on stretchers whilst playing for England. On the flipside Harry should hand Tottenham debuts to both William Gallas and deadline day headliner Rafael Van der Vaart.
The home side will count themselves unlucky for not coming out of Anfield with a point last team out and will want to make the Hawthorns a fortress this season after their opening home win over Sunderland on match day 2. Roberto Di Matteo will hand debuts to Paul Scharner and the returning Marc Antoine Fortune.
