Australian Jarmila has found terrific form lately. She totally outplayed German Anna-Lena Groenefeld 6-2 6-1 in the first round. From 2-2 in first set, Jarmila won nine games in a row, but knowing how well Groth is playing recently the result was pretty much expected.

It is good to have the confirmation that after three weeks playing in the USA “Jarka” still has the freshness to crash her opponents like this. It seems she is going to be in top 30 very soon if she manages to keep this form and she continues to strike the ball that well.

Jarka’s opponent in the second round at Istanbul is Anna Lapushchenkova, who has not won a single set in the last three months until this week. She played in the French Open, Eastbourne and Wimbledon, and lost sets with scores like 6-0 and 6-1. In the first round here she defeated Klara Zakopalova, but Klara was absolutely deplorable and ill since the last Grand Slam tournament. Anna has a quite an impressive game actually but battles with inconsistency and a weak serve.

Anna won’t be able to stop the rising Aussie tennis star from marching on.

Verdict: Jarmila to win.
