WTA Stanford 2010 Samantha Stosur vs Christina M...

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 posted by Dorian

Christina McHale turned pro just a few weeks ago. The American teenager has come from qualifying rounds and defeated Kai-Chen Chang in the first round of the main draw. She came back from a set down to lose only two games in last two sets. The 18-year old, ranked 161st in the world, has a pretty good serve and she seems to enjoy playing on clay courts more where she has recorded 27 wins and just 14 defeats. On hard courts she has a negative record 21-29.

Christina will meet in the second round opponent in Aussie Sam Stosur. It may sound like mission impossible for Christina especially because Sam is one of the most consistent players at the moment on the WTA Tour. With a few exceptions, Stosur hasn’t lost in the first round of any event she has played in 2010. She’s beat inexperienced opponents without mercy and this match against Christina will be no different. It should be a straight sets win for the Australian. Even a tie-break would mean a huge surprise. So Sam will be looking forward to an easy win. She already has an great hard courts record with 149 wins and 100 defeats.

Verdict: Sam Stosur to win in straight sets.
