There are several types of different bet types you can make for any given golf tournament. You can bet on a golfer to win the tournament outright, bet on a golfer to place e.g. in the top 10, bet on a golfer to finish higher than another golfer, bet on a golfer to win a major during a year/season, and there’s the round bets where normally three golfers go head to head. There may also be specialty bets made around a player such as Tiger Woods.
