Autumn Racing Carnival
Sydney’s horse racing scene comes alive with world class racing during Autumn racing, also known as Autumn Carnival. There’s over $18 million in prize money to be won as horses & jockeys compete for cash and glory. Some of the world class racing includes the Golden Slipper and Australian Derby.
There’s also the Australian Easter Yearling Sale that draws an audience. Here you get to see who’s who of thoroughbred royalty in the southern hemisphere!

Saturday, 10 April 2010 – Australian Derby Day
The Autumn racing really gets underway with the Australian Derby Day. A great event and a good starting point for some major punting!

Saturday, 17 April 2010 – Doncaster Day
This is Royal Randwick’s famous mile, The Doncaster Mile, and it is one of the most anticipated races for punters.

Saturday, 24 April 2010 – Sydney Cup Day
With close to $2m in prize money on this day the highlight is the running of the Sydney Cup (3200m), the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), and the Champagne Stakes (1600m) and the All Aged Stakes (1400m).
Sydney Cup is also known as the Family Day at Royal Randwick and the garden will be transformed into rides and games.
